Why do I need a new fuse board?

Upgrading ensures your installation meets the latest safety standards. Modern units include Type A RCBO protection, Surge Protection Devices (SPD), and fire-rated metal enclosures. If your board has no RCD, uses rewireable fuses, or is 20+ years old, a replacement is strongly recommended.

My fuse box is not fire-rated — does it fail?

No. A non–fire-rated enclosure is a C3 (Recommended) observation. This does NOT fail an inspection, but upgrading improves safety and future-proofs your installation.

Why is my new fuse board tripping?

Modern boards are more sensitive to small fault currents above 30mA. Your package includes 2 hours free fault finding and minor faults fixed immediately. If multiple faults exist, we explain costs clearly on-site.

How long does a fuse board replacement take?

Most standard replacements take around 3–4 hours. The electricity will be switched off during the work.

Why does a new board sometimes trip?

Modern protection can reveal existing faults that an older board did not detect. We include up to two hours of initial fault finding and explain any further work before proceeding.

What happens if additional work is needed?

We identify the issue, explain the options and provide the cost before carrying out chargeable remedial work.
